Max embraces his destiny and Tess stays in Roswell, but the war happens anyway, coming much sooner and much more vicious than the one Future Max saw. After a bloody 10-year war, won by their side only due to Liz's link to the Granilith, she and Michael are the only ones left of their octet. Max is dead and Michael is king, Alex is dead, Maria was taken by the other side, and no one has heard from Tess, Isabel or Kyle in years. Most humans have either been forced to bond with one side or the other or reside in prison camps or sanctuaries.
